Today, my 3-year-old daughter Kealy grabbed a framed photo of Luke holding her when she was 8 months old and she brought it over to me asking if it was a picture of her when she was a baby. With the recent arrival of our son, Rory, she has been extra interested in herself as a baby and this photo sparked her curiosity. After looking at the framed photo from one of our family photo sessions, we moved on to thumbing through the photo book I made of her first six months. She loved naming family members, laughing at herself grabbing onto Luke’s shirt and stretching her chubby little legs, and remembering in a meaningful way that we did for her all the things we are currently doing for Rory. She remembers and can clearly see the love we have poured into her and that does my heart some serious good.
We make it a point to get our photos taken as a family at least once per year because, let’s face it, getting everyone in one frame is a rare occurrence. It is so important for us and our kids to be able to sit with these moments, especially the ones where everyone is together. That’s why I am excited to be offering even more options this year for mini-sessions and full family sessions!
Last year was an amazing season photographing the families of some dear friends and meeting some incredible new people. I can’t wait for this year’s sessions and just launched the dates for mini-sessions which will be held on September 28th and 29th and October 26th and 27th! Check it out here. And scroll down for some of my favorites from last year!
